Where does Joey stand on the issue of Life?
Joey is Pro-Life to his core. He believes that our Constitution grants the right to life for all of God’s children and has always promoted bills that have made Mississippi the safest state in the nation for the unborn.
Where does Joey stand on the issue of the 2nd amendment?
Joey firmly believes in protecting the right to bear arms for Mississippians. He has been a strong supporter of various bills that expand and protect 2nd amendment rights in Mississippi.
Where does Joey stand on public education?
Joey is a product of both a public K-12 education as well as attended and graduated from one of Mississippi’s public universities (USM) and fully supports continuing to make Mississippi’s public education system better and not only funding public education but demanding that Mississippi’s public education system continues to improve the educational product.
Where does Joey stand on pro-business legislation?
Joey has authored many pro-business pieces of legislation including the largest tax cut in Mississippi history. Joey believes that we must create the business environment in Mississippi where businesses that already exist in Mississippi would want to expand their current operations and where new businesses would choose to locate in Mississippi to provide more job opportunities for Mississippians.
Where does Joey stand on infrastructure?
Joey authored and promoted bills these past several years that would provide millions of additional dollars for infrastructure improvements and to make our roads and bridges safer for our citizens and our farmers and industries to get their product to market.
Where does Joey stand on religious liberty?
Joey believes our Constitution grants Americans the right to exercise their religious beliefs without hinderance from the government. Joey has faithfully stood for Mississippians’ rights to freely exercise their religious faith without fear of retribution from the government.
Where does Joey stand on access to healthcare?
Joey believes that it is very important for Mississippians to have access to quality healthcare. We have funded over a billion dollars per year towards our Medicaid match which draws down over 3 billion federal dollars into Mississippi for providing healthcare to the poor and disabled.
Where does Joey stand on supporting the military?
Joey feels it is government’s primary responsibility to protect its citizens. Joey has voted in favor of support for money to help keep all of our military installations in Mississippi open and expanding. Joey helped bond money in his role as Senate Finance Committee to expand the military museum at Camp Shelby south of Hattiesburg and bonded money to help update the nation’s preeminent shipbuilding facility in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
